A different way to learn english

The BBC learning English webpage is an excellent site to practice, learn or simply get your English better, taking advantage of the web, and at the same time getting uploaded with news or interesting topics of current things happening around the world, or inside England.

This learning system has different areas, such grammar and vocabulary, quizzes and exams and a lot of different ways to read, listen and learn the language.

The main ways to learn is through the reading, which involves vocabulary and grammar. This is about documents talking about news, articles with current topics ,or simply a grammar and vocabulary class; listening, which is about helping with understanding ,pronunciating, practicing and so helping visitors to feel part of the “online class”, testing the knowledge learnt at the website, most of the articles are supported with audio files which make a whole learning system. Finally people can have fun with comics, like “the flatmates”, quizzes and crosswords where they can practice the language.

Besides this the site has a teacher area helping them to plan the class.

I totally recommend to visit this BBC web for those who really want to learn the language in a different way, out of the typical classes.

An encouraging song

I think good songs are totally connected to different times of your life, not necessarily express what you are feeling, but they come to your life and then are part of your greatest hits, your personal playlist.
At this moment of my life a good song that I heard not that long before.It was a Muse’s song (an English rock band),and it’s called “Invincible”, all because I was preparing myself to the concert of the band cause they were going to play in chile, that was on last July. I didn’t know that much this band, just some good songs, I read the lyric of this song and I really loved it. It’s such an hymn, telling you how to make your dreams come true, fighting against every obstacles and helping you to believe in yourself. A really encouraging song to listen to in hard times when everything is going bad.

The robot city

Victory city is a new way of life for the next generations in the future. It’s a complex World of buildings designed to be efficient, but not that human as a city should be. Even when this type of city has everything neccesary for inhabitants the designer didn’t think about feelings and human sense. The city complex has 5 buildings, each one with 102 floors plan, raised in the minimum area, letting the countryside free to be exploted for the new city, providing natural food and eliminatiing all kind of artificial things in the process.
One of the things that i really think it was inhuman is the floor plans, specificly talking about there are no Windows in bedrooms! Like people would be robots!
I think is a good idea, thinking about the future, the overpopulation and all kind of effects and threats caused because of human damage, but is not the best way to live a normal life, with all needs human beings have.

the music technology

i love technology!! everytime i’m looking at the technology catalogues inserted in the newspaper to find something interesting.
I also love music by the way, since walkman cd players appeared i bought one (those heavy old walkmans). then came the mp3 players era, and of course i got one too, i spent more Money in that mp3 player than the regular price cause in that time they were new, and the one i bought it was a philips mp3 player. But now my favourite piece of technology is my cellphone, specially cause it has an mp3 player included,(besides his camera and communication functions)
i everytime download music from the Internet and after that i load them into my cellphone. It’s a Samsung mobile, black, slim slider, really cool. I love to listen to the music when i’m commuting, when i’m in home working for some college homework, making a 3d model, or just listening to the music just for pleasure. That’s why i love my cellphone, cause it allows me to make my commuting more pleasant, with this transantiago system and the crowded trains of the subway. It’s funny cause i don’t really need it to talk, like it would be normal, instead of i use it to listen to my favourite music, my mp3’s, not even radio, just my own music.
